A magical Winter Wedding at Elmore Court in Gloucestershire
Naomi & Matt’s story
It was wonderful to cover Naomi and Matt’s Winter wedding at Elmore Court Gloucestershire. Here is their story….
Severn years ago and we were on a night out in Cheltenham when we were introduced through mutual friends. A couple of weeks later we met up for a date in a local pub. It was the best first date we had ever been on as we found it really easy to talk to each other. We had a lot in common- love of travel, similar taste in films, books, humour etc. Over the next six years, we became close to each other’s families and friends going to numerous weddings. After Matt had been best man three times and an usher six times, he eventually got round to proposing when we were on holiday in Montenegro.
Temporary wedding ring!
Matt got a temporary ring and had it with him when we went on what is one of the most dangerous but scenic roads in the world. He had planned to propose at the top of the mountain but had not realised how scary it would be (no barriers, crumbling drop-offs etc). Sweating so much at the top, that he thought it wouldn’t be the best time to propose. He then decided to propose at the top of a thousand-year-old fort but after climbing halfway up the paths started crumbling and there were sheer drops on each side ( Montenegro doesn’t do health and safety) and although Matt climbed to the top, I stopped halfway up.
Romantic town of Perast
We then drove to the tiny romantic town of Perast, which overlooks Kotor bay, which is framed, by mountains. Matt got down on one knee in this perfect setting with just the two of us were standing on the edge of the bay and then a massive coach of Japanese tourists pulled up. Matt jumped up pretty quickly but at least I had already said yes!
