Beautiful location to get married on the Welsh border
It was great to be chosen as the wedding photographer for Olivia and Alex’s wedding in Wales. They both live in New Zealand as Alex is from that neck of the woods and it’s where they first met. However, they chose to get married in Powys, as Olivia’s family live in that area. The bridal preparations and ceremony took place in Powys. The wedding reception was held at the wonderful The Swan at Hay hotel.A little gem of a venue perched on the side of the hill not far from the banks of the river Wye. William Wordsworth’s favourite river and for good reason.
Plenty of flowers in bloom
Although it was the wrong time of year for daffodils to be in bloom there were plenty of other flowers in the hotel garden. After the wedding ceremony, everyone made themselves comfortable basking in the garden sunshine, whilst enjoying canapes and drinks on the lawn. I’ve covered a few wedding at The Swan at Hay and this didn’t disappoint.
I’ve been a wedding photographer for over 25 years now but I never get bored of covering weddings. After all, I’ve been invited to a big party and every wedding is different Different personalities and characters. Each wedding is unique and Olivia and Alex’s wedding was no exception.
