Jen and Lee celebrate their big day in rural Shropshire
Here is their story…
Having been friends for many years with friends telling us we were perfect for each other we finally went on a secret date on the train to Salisbury. We had a fantastic Mexican and an amazing evening! After an exciting first date, further ‘secret dates’ followed! The pressure of finding places we wouldn’t be seen together became too much and we quickly realised how right everyone else had been – we really were right for each other!
Share a love of the outdoors
We share a love of the outdoors, wildlife and adventure and walking our dog Oscar come rain or shine. Having a similar sense of fun and humour and we constantly make each other giggle! We both love music and had such great fun making our playlists for our wedding day filled with songs we love and ones that hold cherished memories. We also loved every excuse to visit pubs to find the live music for our special day!
The proposal
The proposal came during one of our most incredible holidays in Kenya. At 4 o’clock in the morning, Lee got down on one knee on the balcony of our lodge with hippos and crocs in the Mara River below. Through shock and excitement it took rather a long time for an answer, but eventually, a yes came before we set off on a sunrise balloon ride across the plains of the Masa Mara followed by champagne breakfast in the bush. Lee in fact intended to propose while on the balloon but feared nervy fingers or excited hands would result in the ring being dropped into the middle of a pride of lions!! It was the perfect day and one, which will be remembered always!
Less than a year to plan the Wedding!
We had less than a year to plan our wedding day and we chose to get married in Shropshire on the village green where Jen grew up, as it has become a place where we both love to spend time together. Our two days were everything we could have wished for and more.
