When we first arrived here in Andalusia as a documentary wedding photographer and marketer, we did wonder about what style of wedding photography would be most popular here.
Although previously it seems the style was more romantic and set up, it seems now that the documentary style is really very popular.
The opportunities here to capture the flamboyance, culture, and style of Spanish weddings are second none. The striking venues on offer and the glorious weather all help.
What is a Documentary Wedding Photographer?
Documentary wedding photography isn’t just a style that is more relaxed and less staged. Also, not just any photography can achieve great results.
This particular style really and truly captures the whole story of your special day. It captures real emotions and real people. To achieve this, a photographer needs to blend in with the crowd, yet have an artistic and creative flair. They need to draw on years of experience, to really know where and when to spot the best opportunities, capturing all those special moments.
It’s been my pleasure to recently shoot a fantastic wedding in Malaga. The venue was quite dramatic and extremely photogenic. But it was the bride and groom who really made the day. They were clearly having a great time and were very relaxed and fun-loving. This, of course, rubbed off on the guests and everyone had a complete ball.
