Penelope and Jame’s amazing wedding at North Cadbury Court
Here is their story…..
James and I met the modern way – via an online dating website in 2015. After confirming with my then housemate (who turned out already knew James) that he was not a catfish, we arranged our first date at a pub just north of Marlborough, Wiltshire. On this date, he got a Star Wars joke in (something about looking for love in ‘Alderaan’ places) and I knew a second date was on the cards as a fellow Star Wars fan!
Two years later
Two years later and we found ourselves standing at the top of the aisle in St Michael the Archangel church in North Cadbury saying ‘I do’. Walking out of the church as man and wife to John Williams’ ‘Throne Room’ music from Star Wars was just perfect for us and set the scene for our guests with the wedding theme we had gone for.
Once we left the church, James had his 1940’s Willys Jeep parked at the church gates and we went off for a drive down to the lake at North Cadbury Court. It was lovely to have time for just the two of us before joining everyone at the reception. We were so lucky with the weather in March and everyone was able to enjoy being outside until called in for the wedding breakfast.
Original Star Wars toys
We had original Star Wars toys as our table decorations and tables named after various planets from the films. We even renamed the casino basement at North Cadbury Court the ‘Mos Eisley Casino’ and my brother was DJing dressed as Darth Vader, calling everyone to the dance floor with the Cantina tune prior to the Ceilidh band striking up.
The whole weekend was just amazing and went by so quickly. Stephen from Ketch-22 captured the day incredibly and really got across our personalities and the quirkiness of the day.
